Privacy policy

English

Scope

This policy covers Panic Lookup: Device Reports for iPhone, iPad and Mac, developed by Nguyễn Thành Đạt, and this support website. Contact: datnt2101@gmail.com.

The app requires no account and does not automatically upload logs, photos, reports or usage data to the developer’s servers. It contains no advertising, tracking or behavioral analytics SDK.

Logs, photos and device information

The app processes logs, text and images you choose for analysis. Image text recognition and log analysis run on your device. Draft text stays in memory during the current session. Original logs and images are not stored in the app’s report library.

The app reads some information made available by the operating system, such as hardware model, OS version, RAM, available storage, current battery level and thermal state. This information is displayed locally; the app does not automatically retrieve IMEI or serial numbers.

Camera and access permissions

The app requests camera permission only when you choose to take a log photo. Photos are normalized in memory for text recognition; the app does not automatically save captured photos to Photos. You can deny or revoke camera access in system settings and still select an image, import a file or paste text.

System photo and file pickers let you choose what the app can read. On Mac, the app stores access to the folder you select so it can scan again. You can remove that folder in the app or turn off scanning when opening or returning. Scanning does not continue after the app quits.

Information stored on your device

Reports contain analysis or check results, notes you enter, device model, dates and necessary excerpts. The app attempts to mask common identifiers using recognition patterns; this does not guarantee removal of every private detail.

On iPhone/iPad, choosing Save to app in the share extension stores a report in a shared local area used by the app and its extension. Pending copies are removed after successful saving in the main app. Failed imports may remain in a size-limited local recovery area.

On Mac, the app stores folder access, scan preferences and hashes of processed logs to help avoid duplicate reports. This information is not sent to the developer.

Sharing and external links

Reports leave the app only when you choose to share or export them to a destination such as AirDrop or another app. Review their contents before sending. Exported copies and the recipient’s data handling are outside Panic Lookup’s control.

Knowledge articles are available offline. If you open an original document or image from Apple, iFixit or another website, your browser visits that site and its privacy policy applies. The app does not attach your logs or reports to these links.

Retention and deletion

Reports remain on your device until you delete them. Delete an individual report or use Settings → Library → Delete all reports. On Mac, removing the selected folder deletes stored access. Processed-log hashes are stored separately and are not automatically cleared when you delete reports or remove a folder. If the app detects a damaged scan history, it offers a control to reset that history.

Deleting a report in the app does not delete exported or shared copies, or operating-system backups. Backup and restoration depend on your device and backup-service settings. The developer has no remote access to read or delete your local app data.

Support email

If you choose to email support, the developer receives your sending address, message and any attachments to handle your request. Send only what is necessary; a full log or sensitive identifiers are not required. Email is processed through the email service provider and kept as long as needed for the support request.

You can request access, correction or deletion of support information you have sent by emailing datnt2101@gmail.com. This is correspondence you choose to send, rather than automatic collection of logs or usage data by the app.

Support website

This static website has no developer-added analytics, advertising, cookies or tracking scripts. GitHub Pages provides hosting and may process technical visit information, such as IP addresses and request logs, under the GitHub privacy statement.

Changes and contact

If data handling changes, this policy will be updated with a revised date at the top of the page. Send privacy questions to datnt2101@gmail.com.
